Arrest Report December 29, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the holiday reporting period (Tuesday-Sunday), the Sheriff’s Office responded to 227 complaints and reports the following arrests:
 

Katherine Mitchell, 31, 201 ½ Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 23, 2014 at 12:52 pm on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy made contact with Mitchell at a business in Bayou Vista and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. The deputy transported Mitchell to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $10,000.

 

Braxton Duncan, 17, 121 Columbia Store Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 24, 2014 at 12:01 am for possession of Schedule I and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy conducting a security check at a business on Highway 182 in the Franklin area made contact with two subjects in a parked vehicle. Upon making contact with the subjects, the deputy smelled the strong odor of burning marijuana. The passenger, identified as Duncan, was found to be in possession of marijuana and a metal pipe. The deputy released Duncan on a summons to appear in court on March 11, 2015.

 

Timmy Jones, 53, 129 Mount Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 24, 2014 at 1:20 am for the following offenses:

- Improper lane usage

- Driving while intoxicated, 2nd offense

- Flight from an officer

- Resisting arrest, 4 counts

- Battery on a police officer

A deputy conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle swerving on Highway 182 in the Siracusaville area. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Jones, and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test, on which Jones performed poorly. During the arrest, Jones pulled away from the deputy, entered his vehicle, and fled the scene. The deputy followed Jones. With the assistance of Morgan City Police, the deputy apprehended Jones at his residence on Mount Street. The deputy transported Jones to the parish jail for booking. Jones was released on a $55,000 bond.

 

Khadijah Batiste, 20, 342 Sugar Plum Street, Houma, LA was arrested on December 24, 2014 at 12:12 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Batiste, an employee, was seen on video surveillance stealing cash instead of placing it in the register on several occasions. The amount of cash taken totaled over $1,100. The deputy transported Batiste to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Marc C. Ramsey, 34, 607 Clarke Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 24, 2014 at 12:21 pm on a warrant for criminal neglect of family. A deputy investigating an animal complaint on Clarke Road made contact with Ramsey and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Ramsey to the parish jail for booking. Ramsey was released on a personal surety bond.

 

Varice Richardson, 21, 170 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on December 26, 2014 at 10:23 pm for disturbing the peace (offensive language) and disturbing the peace (fighting). A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Friendship Alley. The deputy observed Richardson yelling obscene language in the street causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. During the course of the investigation, the deputy also learned that Richardson pushed a male subject at the residence. The deputy transported Richardson to the parish jail for booking. Richardson was released on a summons to appear in court on March 11, 2015.

 

James Acosta, 46, 4492 Highway 83, Charenton, LA was arrested on December 27, 2014 at 12:50 am on a warrant for failure to appear o the charges of possession of Schedule I , 2nd offense, improper lane usage, and possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles. A deputy investigating a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Highway 83 in Ashton made contact with Acosta and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Acosta to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Donna A. Lahre, 58, 6605 Flamingo Way S., St. Petersburg, FL was arrested on December 27, 2014 at 8:58 am for driving while intoxicated. A deputy assisting Morgan City Police with a traffic stop on Highway 90 in the Amelia area made contact with Lahre and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Lahre performed poorly. Lahre registered a 0.092g% blood alcohol concentration on the breath test. The deputy transported Lahre to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Tammy Gilbeau, 36, 2106 LaGrange Robicheaux Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 27, 2014 at 10:52 am for leash law violation. A deputy responding to an animal complaint at a residence on LaGrange Robicheaux Road learned that Gilbeau’s three dogs were loose and had chased a male victim in the street. The deputy released Gilbeau on a summons to appear in court on March 11, 2015.

 

Kimberly Glynn, 25, 1711 Cross Road #2, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 27, 2014 at 4:24 pm for aggravated assault and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of no driver’s license, headlights must dim, and license plate light required.

Joel Floyd, II, 26, 1711 Cross Road #2, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 27, 2014 at 4:24 pm for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responded to a complaint of possible domestic abuse at a residence in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Glynn and Floyd were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical encounter. During the fight, Glynn threw a hair brush at Floyd and Floyd pushed Glynn against a wall. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set for Glynn. Floyd was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Felicia Young, 43, 1027 ½ Ciro Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 27, 2014 at 11:58 pm for aggravated battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a possible aggravated battery at a residence on Ciro Street. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Young stabbed a female victim in the arm. The victim sustained a small stab wound. The deputy was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Taylor M. Saucier, 18, 10976 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 28, 2014 at 8:23 pm for possession of Schedule I and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the Centerville School Board Office parking lot. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a vehicle leaving the parking lot and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver of the pick-up truck and smelled the strong odor of burning marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The deputy subsequently located marijuana cigarettes inside the vehicle along with items of drug paraphernalia. The deputy released Saucier on a summons to appear in court on March 11, 2015.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
                                        

Quincey Jones, 51, 1134 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 27, 2014 at 9:29 pm for possession of Schedule I with intent to distribute. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division received information regarding a large amount of marijuana at a residence on Irish Bend Road and began an investigation into the suspected illegal drug activity. Detectives located marijuana belonging to Jones with an estimated street value of over $9,000. Jones was located on Bray Lane. Following the investigation, Jones was transported to the parish jail for booking. Jones was released on a $15,000 bond.
