Blanket Drive to Benefit St. Mary Council on Aging

Over 8,000 senior citizens call St. Mary Parish home according to St. Mary Council on Aging Director, Beverly Domengeaux. In an effort to meet the needs of many seniors, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is holding a blanket drive. We invite you to join us in this effort to offer comfort and warmth to the seniors of our communities this winter. New, unused blankets of any size, including lap blankets, may be dropped off at either St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin on the 4th floor of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse or in Morgan City at 1455 Railroad Avenue. The drive will end on December 19, 2014 when the blankets will be delivered to the St. Mary Council on Aging to be given to senior citizens in need this winter season.
