According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Desmond Francis, 26, 10723 Highway 182, Franklin LA, was arrested on December 2, 2014 at 6:00am on a warrant on the charge of reckless operation of a motor vehicle and a warrant for aggravated battery. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 182 in the Franklin area. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Francis, and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant for aggravated battery stems from a complaint received in October. Deputies learned that Francis had struck a female victim in the St. Joseph area. Francis was transported to the parish jail for booking. Francis was later released on a $3,000 bond.
Walter Howard, 28, 504 Williams St, Patterson LA, was arrested on December 2, 2014 at 4:26pm on a warrant for failing to appear on charges of driving under suspension and speeding. A deputy transferred Howard from the Patterson Police Department to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
