Arrest Report December 1, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the holiday weekend reporting period (Wednesday-Sunday), the Sheriff’s Office responded to 213 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Susana Hernandez, 28, 233 Southwest Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 26, 2014 at 9:47 pm for hit and run driving. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area responded to a report of a possible hit and run on Southwest Road. During the course of the investigation, the deputy identified Hernandez as the subject who struck a neighbor’s vehicle while backing out of her driveway. Hernandez was released on a summons to appear in court on February 10, 2015.

 

Christopher L. Saverse, 32, 306 Jonson Street, Houma, LA was arrested on November 26, 2014 at 9:14 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of direct contempt and speeding. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista area. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Saverse, and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Saverse was transported to the parish jail for booking. Saverse was later released on a $298.50.

 

Kris Myers, 36, 321 Highway 182 Lot 5B, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 27, 2014 at 5:16 am for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to Teche Regional Medical Center in reference to a report of a possible battery that occurred in a vehicle in the Bayou Vista area. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Myers struck a female victim in the face and pulled out her hair. The deputy located Myers at a residence on Highway 182 in Bayou Vista and transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.  

 

David J. Tabb, Jr., 26, 2400 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 27, 2014 at 8:58 pm for simple burglary. A deputy received information regarding a possible suspect in a burglary investigation travelling in the area of Irish Bend Road. The deputy responding to the location, observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Tabb, and observed several automotive batteries in the vehicle. Tabb admitted to the deputy that he stole the batteries from other vehicles in the parking lot of an industrial business in Franklin. The deputy transported Tabb to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Edwin Young, Jr., 35, 188 Mary Garrett Lane, Charenton, LA was arrested on November 28, 2014 at 3:10 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle improperly equipped with a television and operating a vehicle without a drivers license. A deputy conducting a standard warrants check during a booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center learned of the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.

 

Kristie L. Adams, 35, 455 Highway 400, Napoleonville, LA was arrested on November 28, 2014 at 2:08 pm for the following charges:

- Cruelty to the infirm

- Disturbing the peace

- Criminal trespass

- Remaining where forbidden

 A deputy responded to disturbance at a residence on Friendship Alley. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Adams entered onto private property and engaged in an argument with a 61 year old female. Adams refused to leave the property. During the argument, Adams punched the victim on the shoulder. The deputy transported Adams to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Johnny Whitfield, 65, 759 Degraville Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on November 28, 2014 at 9:00 pm for bicycle equipment required and on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a subject riding a bike that was not properly illuminated and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy identified the subject as Whitfield and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Whitfield to the parish jail for booking. No bail was set.

 

John May, Jr., 24, 102 Janet Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on November 29, 2014 at 12:32 am for the following offenses:

- Proper equipment required (head lights)

- Expired inspection sticker

- Driving under suspension

- Switched license plate

- No insurance

- Possession of marijuana 2nd offense

- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)

- Warrant from Terrebonne Parish for failure to appear on the charge of careless operation of a motor vehicle with an accident, expired inspection, and n o insurance

A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle without a working headlight and conducted a traffic stop on Lake Palourde Road. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as May, and learned that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. During the course of the traffic stop investigation, the deputy also learned that the vehicle May was driving had a switched license plate and that there was marijuana inside the vehicle. The deputy transported May to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

James A. Graves, 23, 200 Judith Street, Houma, LA was arrested on November 29, 2014 at 12:55 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Graves and a female subject were involved in an argument when Graves punched the female victim in the face. Graves was located at the Patterson Police Department and subsequently transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Gregory Payne, 39, 1900 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 29, 2014 at 3:40 pm for resisting an officer and on three warrants for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy located Payne at his residence on the warrants. During Payne’s arrest he repeatedly pulled away from the deputy in an attempt to flee. The deputy transported Payne to the parish jail for booking. His bail is set at $45,574.36.

 

Bryan Johnlouis, 42, 2124 Time Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 29, 2014 at 5:24 pm for failure to appear on the charges of remaining where forbidden, criminal trespass, and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy booking Johnlouis at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Bail is set at $4,000.

 

Paulino Lopes-Garcia, 29, 110 Tommy Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on November 29, 2014 at 7:50 pm for speeding, expired inspection sticker, no drivers license, and flight from an officer. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Barrow Street and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle accelerated continuing to travel to a residence on Tommy Lane. At the residence, the driver exited the vehicle. The deputy ordered the driver to stop. The driver made eye contact with the deputy and then attempted to run inside the residence. The deputy apprehended the driver and identified him as Lopes-Garcia. Following the investigation, the deputy transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Amanda Ramos, 29, 123 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on November 29, 2014 at 11:32 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute. A deputy securing a large crowd outside a bar on Highway 182 Frontage Road in Amelia received a report of possible illegal narcotics activity in the parking lot. The deputy made contact with Ramos and learned that she had engaged in the sale of crack cocaine. The deputy subsequently located additional cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle Ramos was driving. The deputy transported Ramos to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Shawn McCauley, 37, 2858 Fourth Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on November 30, 2014 at 9:52 am on two warrants from Berwick Police for violation of a protective order and domestic abuse battery. A deputy located McCauley at a residence in Patterson on the warrants. The deputy transported McCauley to the parish jail for booking and was later transferred to another jurisdiction.

 

Gerry Duncan, 49, 202 Ridgeway Street, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on November 30, 2014 at 2:13 pm for theft of goods. A deputy received information regarding a shoplifter who left a store in Bayou Vista. Using the description provided by the complainant, the deputy located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Highway 90 in Amelia. The deputy made contact with Duncan who was a passenger in the vehicle. The deputy also observed items inside the vehicle that were reported stolen from the store. Continuing the investigation, the deputy identified Duncan as the subject seen on video surveillance taking items from the store without paying for them. The deputy transported Duncan to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $1,000.

 

Devon Marsh, 22, 1048 Ciro Street, Siracusaville, LA was arrested on November 30, 20141 at 4:43 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, operating a vehicle with improper tail lights, improper lane usage, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy conducting an investigation into a complaint of a reckless driver made contact with Marsh and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Marsh to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a $344.50 bail.

 

Jose Tobias-Garcia, 29, 115 West Syls Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on November 30, 2014 at 8:37 pm for reckless operation of vehicle, simple criminal damage to property (over $500), possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in the parking lot of a business on West Syls Lane. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Tobias-Garcia accelerated at a high rate of speed spraying gravel onto another vehicle. The deputy also observed an open container of beer inside the vehicle. The deputy transported Tobias-Garcia to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
