Arrest Report November 26, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Derret W. Colbert, 32, 201 Porter Lane, Lafayette, LA was arrested in November 25, 2014 at 1:05 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension, expired inspection sticker, and failure to use seatbelt. Colbert was transported from the East Baton Rouge Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Colbert was later released on a $5,000 bond.

 

Darius Martin, 21, Franklin, LA was additionally charged with simple criminal damage to property on November 25, 2014 at 2:50 pm. A jailer responded to a disturbance in one of the dorms at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The jailer observed inmate Martin cause damage to a window by striking it repeatedly. Martin remains incarcerated.

 

Michael Payton, 26, 407 Liner Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 25, 2014 at 4:21 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of Scehdule I, possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, and vehicle license required. He was also charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks. Payton was transported from the Franklin Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for housing. The deputy conducting a standard warrants check during the booking process located the two active warrants. No bail is set.

 

Charlie Jones, 56, 128 Westside Park Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on November 25, 2014 at 7:57 pm for criminal mischief. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Amelia. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Jones was concealing items in his jacket and then placing the items back on the shelves. Store personnel advised the deputy that Jones is banned from the store. The deputy transported Jones to the parish jail for booking. Jones was later released on a summons to appear in court on February 10, 2014.
