According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile male, 16, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 19, 2014 at 9:50 am for 2 counts battery of a school teacher. A deputy investigating a complaint of a battery at Patterson High School learned that two students were involved in argument that began in the cafeteria. At that time, a third student broke up the verbal altercation and left the cafeteria with the juvenile. The argument between the two students continued in the gym where two teachers intervened. As the teachers separated the students, the juvenile pushed the teachers in the chest and began swinging his arms at them. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Lisa M. Dantin, 53, 6556 LA 87, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 19, 2014 at 11:33 am for violation of the parish nuisance animals ordinance. A deputy responded to a residence in Charenton in reference to an animal complaint. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Dantin’s cat was allowed to continually enter onto a neighbor’s property where the animal climbed into a vehicle engine compartment. During another incident, an older female tripped over the animal. The deputy released Dantin on a summons to appear in court on February 10, 2014.
Chad A. Ross, Jr., 21, 1708 E. Garner Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on November 19, 2014 at 12:13 pm on a warrant for possession of Schedule I (synthetic marijuana) with intent to distribute. Ross was transported from Assumption Parish to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. The warrant stems from an undercover operation during which Ross sold the illegal substance to a narcotics agent at a location in St. Mary Parish. Ross was later released on a $25,000 bond.
Gordon Tyrone, 50, 326 Old Court, Houma, LA was arrested on November 19, 2014 at 3:02 pm for probation violation. A deputy transported Tyrone from the Terrebonne Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the charge. No bail is set.
Edward Jones, 33, 118 Roussell Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 20, 2014 at 2:30 am for disturbing the peace, simple battery, and on a warrant from Patterson police for simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Dianne Lane in Patterson. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Jones went to the residence and began yelling and sounding the horn of his vehicle. When a resident confronted Jones, he pushed the male victim repeatedly in the chest. The deputy also learned that Jones was wanted on the active warrant. The deputy transported Jones to the parish jail for booking. He was later transferred to another jurisdiction for housing.
The following two arrests were made on November 18, 2014:
Iriane D. Burks, 22, 106 Mill Road, Patterson, LA and Brittany Jones, 21, 139 Lloyd Lane, Morgan City, LA were arrested at 5:07 pm for theft. A deputy investigating a complaint of an employee theft at a store in Bayou Vista learned that Burks and Jones used receipts from prior transactions to falsify merchandise returns totaling over $3,000. Burks and Jones were transported to the parish jail for booking. Burks was released on a personal surety bond. Jones was transferred to another jurisdiction for housing.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Gregory Gober, Jr., 26, 2600 Sixth Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on November 19, 2014 at 10:04 am on a warrant for the charges of possession of marijuana 2nd offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives, with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division were notified by Berwick Police that Gober was at the Berwick Police Department to turn himself in on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into illegal drug activity taking place at Gober’s residence. During a search, narcotics detectives located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Detectives also learned that Gober has a prior conviction for possession of marijuana. Gober was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.
