According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 54 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Kaleb R. Gros, 17, 154 Sun Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 30, 2014 at 1:45 pm on a warrant for illegal possession of a stolen firearm. Gros was located at the Berwick Police Department on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a firearm reported stolen from the Bayou Vista area. The deputy assigned to the case learned that Gros was in possession of the handgun. A deputy transported Gros to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set. The stolen firearm was returned to the owner.
Yansi Martinez-Gonzalez, 33, 510 Lucy Street, Apt. F4, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 30, 2014 at 11:49 am for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Martinez-Gonzalez was seen concealing items in her purse before attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. The deputy released Martinez-Gonzalez on a summons to appear on court on September 3, 2014.
Sulleing Valentin-Quinones, 26, 203 Yellow Bayou Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on June 30, 2014 at 7:57 pm for disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a request to stand by while a male subject retrieved his belongings from his residence. While doing so, Valentin-Quinones began yelling at the subject causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. As the deputy placed Valentin-Quinones under arrest, she attempted to pull away from the deputy. The deputy transported Valentin-Quinones to the parish jail for booking. Bond is set at $1,250.
Emilie Businelle, 21, 600 Superior Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 30, 2014 at 10:44 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of Schedule I and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy conducted a courtesy check of a business in Amelia made contact with Businelle. The deputy knew that Businelle held an active warrant for arrest. The deputy transported Businelle to the parish jail for booking. Bond is set at $2,500.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Jeffrey McCracken, 28, 1728 River Road, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 30, 2014 at 9:18 pm for possession of crack cocaine. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division patrolling the area of Railroad Ave. in Morgan City made contact with a male subject who was riding a bike in the middle of the roadway. The subject was identified as McCracken. While speaking with McCracken, detectives received consent to search his person. During the search, detectives located rocks of crack cocaine. McCracken was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.
