Arrest Report October 29, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

A juvenile female, age 15 and a juvenile female age 15, both of Patterson were arrested on October 28, 2014 at 8:25 am for disturbing the peace (fighting). A deputy responded to a complaint of a fight between two students at Patterson High School. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that the two teenagers were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical encounter. Both juveniles were released to their guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Michael Alvarez, 38, 118 Beadle Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on October 28, 2014 at 10:39 am on two warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy located Alvarez at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrants. Bail is set at $200,000.

 

Mindy L. Macaluso, 31, 535 Arcemont Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 28, 2014 at 10:52 am for obstruction of justice. A deputy investigating a complaint of a vehicle crash on Highway 182 in the Patterson area made contact with one of the driver’s involved identified as Macaluso. Macaluso initially stated to the deputy that no one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. As the investigation progressed, the deputy learned that another subject was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The subject, identified as Glenn L. Rochel, Jr., fled the scene of the crash on foot. Rochel is wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple assault and remains at large. The deputy transported Macaluso to the parish jail for booking. She was released on a $500 bond.

 

Melissa Blanco, 41, 3522 Highway 182 Apartment #40, Berwick, LA was arrested on October 28, 2014 at 3:22 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a report of a theft at a business located on Highway 90 in the Patterson area. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Blanco, an employee, took just over $170 in cash from a register. Blanco was released on a summons to appear in court on January 26, 2014.

 

A juvenile male age 14 and a juvenile male age 16, both of Bayou Vista, LA were arrested on October 28, 2014 at 7:55 pm for criminal mischief. A deputy responded to a complaint of juveniles kicking a utility trailer on Firld Road in Bayou Vista. The juveniles were located on a nearby street and following an investigation released to their guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Dedrick Stevenson, 21, 125 Evans Drive, Charenton, LA was arrested on October 29, 2014 at 12:23 am for possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Highway 182 in the Charenton area. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Stevenson, and smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located two burnt marijuana cigars. Stevenson was released on a summons to appear in court on January 26, 2015. He was also cited for speeding, expired motor vehicle inspection, and driving with no insurance.  

 

Darrell Grubbs, Jr., 30, 215 School Alley Road, New Iberia, LA was arrested on October 28, 2014 at 4:11 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of violation of a protective order. A deputy transported Grubbs from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bail is set.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

                                        

Lawrence Thibodeaux, 51, 201 Newman Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on October 28, 2014 at 3:55 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Angelique Thibodeaux, 22, 201 Newman Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on October 28, 2014 at 4:06 pm on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted an investigation into a complaint of illegal drug activity at 201 Newman Street. During the course of the investigation, detectives made contact with Lawrence and Angelique Thibodeaux. During the course of the investigation, detectives located several items of drug paraphernalia inside the residence. Angelique Thibodeaux held an active warrant for her arrest as the result of a previous narcotics investigation. Both were released on summonses to appear in court on January 26, 2015.

Kelly McMinn, 18, 128 Dotties Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Morgan City area observed a vehicle following too closely to another vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 182. Detectives made contact with the driver, identified as McMinn. While speaking with McMinn, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located several burnt marijuana cigarettes and items of drug paraphernalia. Detectives released McMinn on a summons to appear in court on January 26, 2015.
