Arrest Report October 24, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Brandon Schexnayder, 38, 317 Rod Lane, Baldwin, LA was arrested on October 23, 2014 at 11:45 am for the following offenses:

- No motor vehicle inspection

- Driving under suspension

- Resisting an officer by force

- Warrant for probation violation

A deputy patrolling the Charenton area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker on Highway 182. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Schexnayder, and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. During the arrest, Schexnayder attempted to flee on foot from the deputy by running across the highway. The deputy pursued Schexnayder and swiftly apprehended him. Schexnayder was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Christopher Colbert, 26, 106 East Long Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on October 23, 2014 at 4:34 pm for possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles and possession of marijuana. A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area observed a suspected hand to hand drug transaction and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Colbert, who was observed taking the suspected drugs from another subject on the street. The deputy observed a green leafy substance identified as marijuana inside the vehicle as well as an open bottle of liquor. Following the investigation, the deputy transported Colbert to the parish jail for booking. Colbert was later released on a summons to appear in court on January 26, 2015.

 

Pedro D. Cortez, 24, West Syls Road #44, Amelia, LA was arrested on October 24, 2014 at 12:59 am for possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine). A deputy responding to a medical emergency made contact with Cortez who showed the deputy two rocks of crack cocaine and claimed that the illegal drug was not his. Following the investigation, Cortez was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
