St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

UNIFORMED PATROL SECTION

 

Spencer Rogers, 44, 208 Port Royal Way, Houma, LA was arrested on January 25, 2018 at for no insurance, switched license plate, and no registration. A deputy stopped to assist a stranded motorist on US Highway 90 in Shadyside and identified the driver of the vehicle as Rogers. While speaking with him, the deputy learned that Rogers had no motor vehicle insurance and no registration. Then deputy also found that Rogers had a license plate displayed on the vehicle that was not registered to the truck. Rogers was released on a summons to appear in court on April 2, 2018.

 

Kendrick Jones, 25, 3125 Diane Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 26, 2018 t 10:37 pm for speeding and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt of court, speeding in a construction zone, expired driver’s license, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy monitoring traffic on US Highway 90 in Bayou Vista observed a vehicle speeding 69 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy identified the driver as Jones and located the active warrant for his arrest. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jones was released on a $680 bond.

 

CORRECTIONS SECTION

 

Kentroy Lewis, 25, 601 Ibert Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 25, 2018 at 9:08 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to register as a sex offender. Lewis was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2013. A detective of the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Section found that Lewis failed to meet state requirements as a convicted sex offender and obtained a warrant for his arrest. A correctional deputy transported Lewis from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. No bail is set.

 

WARRANTS SECTION

 

John Lyons, 52, 236 Fandall Road, Gibson, LA was arrested on January 25, 2018 at 10:25 am on 2 warrants for failure to appear on the charges of unauthorized use of a moveable and criminal damage to property. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Section located Lyons at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the warrants and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Lyons was released on a $8,250 bond.
