Arrest Report October 10, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jamie August, 38, 420 Sorrel Road, Sorrel, LA was arrested on October 9, 2014 at 8:16 pm for possession of Schedule I (synthetic marijuana) and abuse of toxic vapors. A deputy responded to a possible medical emergency at a residence on Sorrel Road after being advised that 911 received a call from a subject who hung up on the emergency line. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with August who was identified as the caller. August was found rolling around on the floor with a hand rolled synthetic marijuana cigarette in his hand. As first responders attempted to render medical assistance, August became combative. He was subsequently arrested on the charges listed above and transported to Franklin Foundation Hospital for treatment. There, the deputy released August on a summons to appear in court on January 26, 2014.

 

Amanda Williams, 29, 123 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on October 9, 2014 at 8:03 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area stopped a car matching the description of a vehicle suspected of being involved in a prior complaint. During the stop, the deputy made contact with Williams and learned of the two outstanding warrants for her arrest. The deputy transported Williams to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Glenn Mitchell, Jr., 26, 2433 Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, LA was arrested on October 10, 2014 at 2:43 am for the following offenses:

- Reckless operation of a vehicle

- Disturbing the peace (intoxicated)

- Resisting a police officer (giving false information)

- Resisting a police officer (with force or violence)

- Simple criminal damage to property

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family

- Warrant from Morgan City Police for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension

- Warrant for Morgan City Police for probation violation

A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of a man in a vehicle driving recklessly in circles in a parking lot of a business on Highway 182. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the subject who gave a false name. The deputy identified the man as Mitchell. While speaking with Mitchell, the deputy detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. Mitchell was also slurring his words as he spoke. During his arrest, Mitchell forcefully pulled away from deputies and began swing his arms. After being apprehended and placed into the police unit, Mitchell kicked the window causing damage to the vehicle. The deputy transported Mitchell to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
