Arrest Report - December 13, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

UNIFORMED PATROL SECTION

 

Michael Forristal, 45, 202 South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 12, 2017 at 11:05 am for 2 counts of theft and 2 counts of criminal trespass.

 

Jim Businelle, 58, 202 South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 12, 2017 at 11:05 am for 7 counts of theft and 7 counts of criminal trespass.

 

A deputy investigated complaints of trespassing and theft at a business in the Siracusa area and identified 2 suspects as Forristal and Businelle. The deputy collected evidence that the 2 men entered onto the business property and stole scrap metal on multiple occasions. The deputy located Forristal and Businelle at their residence. They were subsequently transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Trinity Todd, 22, 3578 Second Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on December 12, 2017 at 7:55 pm on 2 City Court of Morgan City warrants for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery (involving domestic violence) and contempt of court. A deputy investigating a complaint of a disturbance in Amelia conducted a traffic stop on Lake Palourde Road on a vehicle matching the description of a subject involved. While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the deputy found that the passenger, Todd, had active warrants for her arrest. Todd was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Clinton Williams, 53, 131 Rizzo Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 12, 2017 at 11:48 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges or operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and no seat belt and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of littering and outdoor burning violation. A deputy located Williams on Northwest Boulevard in Franklin on the warrants and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $3,000.

 

James Bailey, Jr., 23, 110 Railroad Avenue, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 13, 2017 at 12:54 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal damage to property. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle on LA Highway 182 with one working headlight and one working brake light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop, identified the driver as Bailey, and located the active warrant for his arrest. Bailey was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Sean Ferrell, 37, 313 Venus Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 13, 2017 at 4:26 am for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, operating vehicle while intoxicated, and driver must be licensed. A deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed through the parking lot of a business in Bayou Vista. The deputy then observed the vehicle turn and accelerate to a high rate of speed on Venus Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, Ferrell, the deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. After observing other signs of intoxication, the deputy performed a standardized field sobriety test. Ferrell conducted the test poorly. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $3,250.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Kelly McMinn, 21, 6607 Hoper Drive, Houston, TX was arrested on December 12, 2017 at 3:57 pm for the following offenses:

  • Turning movements and required signals violation
  • Driver must be licensed
  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding

Narcotics detectives patrolling the Patterson area observed a vehicle fail to properly signal turns onto St. Peter Street and US Highway 90. Detectives conducted a traffic stop, spoke with the driver who was identified as McMinn, and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the subsequent investigation, detectives located marijuana on McMinn’s person. Detectives also found that she was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license. McMinn was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. During booking, a correctional deputy located the active warrants for her arrest. No bail is set.
