Arrest Report - December 4, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 72-hour weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 148 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Michael Jack, 45, 1146 Highway 83, Ashton, LA was arrested on December 1, 2017 at 6:42 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A narcotics detective observed Jack walking in the middle of Orphan Home Road in Baldwin. While speaking with Jack, the detective found that he was in possession of 2 bags of marijuana. Jack was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Landon Rodriguez, 37, 313 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 1, 2017 at 12:34 pm for theft and possession of Schedule II (suboxone). A narcotics detective responded to a call for service from a business in Bayou Vista regarding a suspicious subject. The detective made contact with the subject, identified him as Rodriguez, and found evidence that he was attempting to leave the store without paying for an item. The detective received consent to search Rodriguez and located a suboxone strip. Rodriguez was unable to provide a prescription for the drug. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Rodriguez was released on a $2,250 bond.

 

Lennis Paray, 33, 3707 Fourth Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on December 1, 2017 at 4:13 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference and failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Narcotics detectives located Paray on Fourth Street Berwick on the warrant and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $100,000.

 

Blaise Crane, 23, 866 Verdunville Road, Verdunville, LA was arrested on December 1, 2017 at 5:13 pm for possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids), possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Franklin area observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Iberia and Third Streets. Detectives conducted a traffic stop. As the vehicle came to a stop, detectives observed a passenger reaching his hand down into the center console and passenger seat area. Detectives made contact with the passenger and identified him as Crane. During the investigation, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located synthetic cannabinoids in the area where Crane was reaching. Detectives also located a synthetic cannabinoid cigarette belonging to Crane. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Christian Businelle, 50, 733 Versen Lane, Berwick, LA was additionally charged on December 1, 2017 at 3:15 pm on a warrant for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute. Businelle was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The warrant was issued following a Narcotics Section investigation into illegal drug activity on Versen Lane in Berwick. In September, with the assistance of Berwick Police officers, detectives conducted a search warrant at Businelle’s residence and located bags of crystal methamphetamine and marijuana. Detectives also found evidence that Businelle sold methamphetamine. No bail is set.

 

 

UNIFORMED PATROL SECTION

 

Calab Mitchell, 21, 216 Cedar Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 1, 2017 at 11:20 pm for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed down Northwest Boulevard in Franklin. The deputy then observed the vehicle speeding into the parking lot of a business. The deputy stopped the driver and identified him as Mitchell. During the traffic stop investigation, the deputy found that Mitchell had an active warrant for his arrest and that he was driving the vehicle with a suspended license. Mitchell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. He was released on a $1,875 bond.

 

Brontre Druilhet, 26, 243 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 2, 2017 at 1:29 am for turning movements and required signals violation and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal on Branch Street and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy spoke with Druilhet, the driver, and found that his license was suspended. Druilhet was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Clarence Colbert, Jr., 47, 104 Haven Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 2, 2017 at 2:39 am for possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine). A deputy investigating a vehicle that was stopped on Yokley Road made contact with a passenger inside and identified him as Colbert. The deputy received consent to search his person and located a piece of crack cocaine. Colbert was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Sally Taylor, 56, 3023 Allison Street Lot B, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 1, 2017 at 2:09 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving while intoxicated, 2nd offense. A deputy responding to a separate complaint on Two Sisters Court in Bayou Vista came into contact with Taylor and located the active warrant for her arrest. Taylor was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Luis Garcia, 34, 101 Willowbend Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a call for service from a business in Bayou Vista regarding shoplifting. The deputy located a subject matching the description of the suspect at a nearby business. The subject was identified as Garcia. Through the course of the investigation, the deputy collected evidence that Garcia left the store without paying for an item. Garcia was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Charles Lodrigue, III, 38, 105 Bridge Road, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 3, 2017 at 7:54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge domestic abuse battery (strangulation). A deputy located Lodrigue at his residence on the warrant and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $10,000.

 

Devante Burden, 25, 1158 LA Highway 83, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 2, 2017 at 11:45 pm for simple battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. A deputy responded to a call for service regarding a disturbance at a residence on LA Highway 83. A Baldwin Police officer also responded to assist. The deputy found evidence that Burden struck a female victim in the chest during an argument with another subject. Burden then left the area. While searching for him, the deputy learned that Burden had entered into a home without the resident’s permission. The deputy located Burden at the residence and took him into custody. Burden was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Djuan Johnson, 37, 134 Gibbs Road, Four Corners, LA was arrested on December 3, 2017 at 9:32 pm for stop sign violation and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of the US Highway 90 off ramp and LA Highway 83 in Baldwin. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver, Johnson, had a suspended license. Johnson was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Brannon Romero, 37, 8074 Scoop Road, Maurice, LA was arrested on December 2, 2017 at 6:34 am for the following offenses:

  • Careless operation of a motor vehicle
  • Criminal damage to property
  • Possession of (open) alcoholic containers in motor vehicles
  • Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license

A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle crash on LA Highway 317 near Burns Point. The deputy located the vehicle involved in the crash and identified the driver as Romero. The deputy observed an open container of beer inside the vehicle and also found that Romero had struck and damaged a traffic sign. The deputy also discovered that Romero was driving with a suspended license. Romero was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Tina Ordoyne, 38, 909 4th Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 2, 2017 at 11:20 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy responding to a complaint on Lagonda Road in Bayou Vista came into contact with Ordoyne and located the active warrant for her arrest. Ordoyne was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Jessica Bourgeois, 37, 821 Two Brothers Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on December 2, 2017 at 5:55 pm for leash law violation. A deputy responded to a complaint of a dog running loose in Amelia. The deputy collected evidence that Bourgeois’ dog ran into the street and chased a male juvenile. Bourgeois was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

Huey Comeaux, II, 30, 190 Beadle Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on December 3, 2017 at 12:39 pm for the following offenses:

  • Battery of a dating partner
  • 2 counts criminal damage to property
  • Aggravated assault

Deputies responded to a report of a battery that occurred at a residence in Amelia. Deputies learned that Comeaux, the suspect in the battery, had fled the area. The K-9 Unit responded to the scene. K-9 Buddy was deployed and indicated the direction Comeaux fled. Deputies located Comeaux hiding beneath an unoccupied residence. Deputies collected evidence that Comeaux bit a female victim during an argument and threatened another victim. Comeaux also damaged a cell phone and door. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Heather Welch, 26, 205 Jones Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on December 3, 2017 at 2:44 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy found evidence that Welch concealed items from the shelves in her purse and intended to leave the store without paying for the goods. Welch was released on a summons to appear in court on March 7, 2018.

 

 

CORRECTIONS DIVISION

 

Rodrick Bennett, 46, 519 Vaughn Alley, Patterson, LA was additionally charged on December 2, 2017 at 8:28 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bennett was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. A corrections deputy located the active warrant and booked Bennett on the charge. No bail is set.
