Arrest Report - October 23, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 138 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

UNIFORMED PATROL SECTION

 

Michael Bryant, 45, no address, was arrested on October 20, 2017 at 2:45 pm for disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy was dispatched to a call for service regarding a man lying on the side of US Highway 90 in Patterson. The deputy located Bryant sleeping on the shoulder of the roadway. While speaking with him, the deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Bryant’s breath and observed other indicators of impairment. The deputy transported Bryant to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $1,000.

 

Jared Lewis, 18, 914 ½ Main Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 22, 2017 at 8:13 am for theft (by shoplifting). A deputy investigating a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Centerville, identified Lewis as a suspect. The deputy found evidence that Lewis concealed a cell phone charger and left the store without paying for the item. Lewis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. He was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Genevia Dauphine, 32, 317 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 22, 2017 at 6:47 pm for disturbing the peace (offensive language) and interfering with a law enforcement investigation. A deputy assisted Baldwin Police with a call for service regarding a disturbance in progress at a residence on Jolivette Street. The deputy observed a suspect who was wanted on an active warrant. When the deputy made contact with him, the suspect fled on foot. When the deputy followed on foot, Dauphine physically blocked the deputy’s path. Dauphine also yelled obscenities. The deputy transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

David Hawkins, 58, 1339 Joseph Street, Siracusaville, LA was arrested on October 22, 2017 at 1:35 pm for violation of the parish ordinance regulating the ownership of pit bull dogs. A deputy who was dispatched to an animal complaint at a residence on Joseph Street found that Hawkins had custody of 5 pit bull dogs none of which were being kept in compliance with the parish ordinance. One of the dogs was found running loose. Following the investigation, Hawkins was released on a summons to appear in court on January 3, 2018. The 5 dogs were collected by a St. Mary Parish Animal Control officer.

 

Leon Lipari, 34, 127 Laura Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 22, 2017 at 7:52 am for violation of the parish leash law ordinance. A deputy responding to an animal complaint on Laura Drive in Patterson found that Lipari allowed his dog to run loose and that the animal entered onto a victim’s private property. Lipari was released on a summons to appear in court on January 3, 2018.
