According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile Male, 16, Charenton, LA was arrested on October 2, 2014 at 9:14 am for threatening a public official. A school resource officer investigating a complaint at the St. Mary Parish Alternative School found that the juvenile male made a threat towards a teacher. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Raymond T. Chapman, 34, 104 Caleb Lane, Verdunville, LA was arrested on October 2, 2014 at 1:42 pm on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy located Chapman at his residence on the warrant and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $100,000.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Walter Fowler, 51, 1108 Chester Bowles Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 2, 2014 at 8:39 pm for possession of synthetic cannabinoids. While patrolling the Morgan City area, Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division observed a pick-up truck driving in the middle of the roadway on General Hodges Street. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Fowler. While speaking with Fowler, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located synthetic cannabinoids. Fowler was released on a summons to appear in court on January 26, 2015.
Brennan Moore, 19, 118 Levett Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 2, 2014 at 5:09 pm on a warrant for possession of marijuana, second offense. Narcotics detectives located Moore on the warrant at a business on Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. Moore was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a personal surety bond.
Brianyiel Westbrooke, 23, 207 Cozier Drive, Houma, LA was arrested on October 2, 2014 at 9:02 pm on the following charges:
- Following too close
- No drivers license
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone-church)
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
Daisha Scott, 26, 1121 Columbus Street, Houma, LA was arrested on October 2, 2014 at 9:02 pm for possession of marijuana and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone-church).
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle travelling in close proximity to their unmarked patrol unit. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on Friendship Alley for following too closely and made contact with the driver, Westbrooke, and passenger, Scott. While speaking with Westbrooke, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located several bags of marijuana packaged for sale, a handgun, and a little over $300.00 in cash (U.S. currency). Detectives believe the money was derived from illegal drug sales. Westbrooke and Scott were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Note: The pills confiscated during the investigation were found be a legally held prescription.
