Second Arrest Made in Connection to Verdunville Residential Burglary - Arrest Report June 12, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Patrick Lemoine, 24, 208 Gail Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 11, 2017 at 7:47 am on a warrant for domestic abuse battery. A deputy located Lemoine at a residence in Amelia on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Amelia on July 7, 2017. The deputy investigating the report found evidence that Lemoine struck a female victim in the face. Lemoine was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $2,500.

 

Bennie Johnson, 52, 230 Mechanic Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 11, 2017 at 1:04 pm on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen things. On May 28, 2017, deputies responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Verdunville Road near the intersection of Francine Road in Verdunville. Read the original release here. On July 6, 2017 deputies recovered an electronic tablet that was stolen from the residence and made an arrest which can be read here. Continuing the investigation, detectives collected evidence that Johnson also had possession of the stolen property and obtained a warrant for his arrest. A deputy located Johnson at his residence on the warrant. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Shayla Johnson, 37, 1117 South Pellerin Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on July 12, 2017 at 10:09 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). A deputy patrolling LA Highway 182 in the Jeanerette area came into contact with Johnson and located the active warrant for her arrest. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Johnson was released on a $5,000 bond.
