Arrest Report - July 3, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 72-hour weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 121 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Alex Justelien, 35, 3166 Highway 315, Houma, LA was arrested on June 30, 2017 9:09 am for speeding (construction zone), expired license plate, and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy observed a vehicle speeding 61 miles per hour in a posted 45 miles per hour zone on US Highway 90 in Patterson. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver who was identified as Justelien. The deputy also found that registration on the vehicle was expired and that Justelien was driving with a suspended license. Justelien was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.

 

Michael Self, 38, 1201 Oil Center Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on June 30, 2017 at 11:32 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, illegal possession of weapons in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, illegal possession of stolen things, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A correctional officer transported Self from the Iberia Parish jail to the ST. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. No bail is set.

 

Amanda Martin, 36, 150 Mercury Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 30, 2017 at 2:10 pm for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy investigating a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 182 at Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista found that one of the drivers, Martin, had a suspended license. Martin was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.

 

Ronald Jones, Jr., 37, 184 Yellow Bayou Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 30, 2017 at 3.32 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to use seatbelts, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy came into contact with Jones at his residence and located the active warrant for his arrest. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jones was released on a $750.00 bond.

 

Lashovious Smith, 39, 323 Spell Street, Houston, TX was arrested on June 30, 2017 at 4:17 pm for speeding (construction zone) and improper lane usage. A detective traveling on US Highway 90 observed a vehicle speeding 90 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone in the Patterson area. The detective also observed the vehicle swerving from lane to lane. A deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver who was identified as Smith. Following the traffic stop investigation, Smith was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Smith was released on a $750 bond.

 

Trish Fontenot, 46, 135 Moon Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 30, 2017 at 10:01 pm for violation of the parish leash law. A deputy responded to an animal complaint at a residence on Moon Road. The deputy found that a loose dog entered onto private property and began fighting with another dog. The deputy identified the owner of the loose dog as Fontenot. Fontenot was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.

 

Jose Martinez-Santiago, 34, 107 Johnston Street, Youngsville, LA was arrested on July 1, 2017 at 1:01 am for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, improper lane usage, possession of (open) alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, and no driver’s license. A deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver on US Highway 90 in the Franklin area. The deputy located the suspect vehicle, observed the driver swerving between lanes, and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy identified the driver as Martinez-Santiago and smelled the strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The deputy also observed several open beer cans inside the pick-up truck. Franklin Police assisted with the investigation. The deputy administered a standardized field sobriety test. Martinez-Santiago conducted the test poorly. He later registered a 0.242g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Martinez-Santiago was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Martinez-Santiago was released on a $3,500 bond.

 

Nicholas Grimmett, 36, 117 Bernard Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 1, 2017 at 4:31 am for aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated battery, and on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy responded to a report of a battery that occurred in Amelia. The deputy located 2 male victims at Teche Regional Medical Center. The deputy located the suspect, Grimmett, at his residence. During the investigation, the deputy found evidence that Grimmett struck the 2 victims in the head with a piece of pipe breaking one victims nose. Grimmett was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Alpha Dolley, 28, 117 Collins Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 7:54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, no seat belt, and improper child restraint. A deputy patrolling Baldwin made contact with Dolley and located the active warrant for his arrest. Dolley was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Dolley was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Donnie Middleton, 38, 750 Harding Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA was arrested on July 1, 2017 at 9:06 pm for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and no license plate light. A deputy traveling on Irish Bend Road observed a vehicle without a license plate light and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy spoke with the driver, Middleton, and found that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Middleton was released on a summons to appear in court on October 11, 2017.

 

Mikel Ashley, 46, 656 Verdunville Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 1, 2017 at 4:22 pm on a warrant for theft of goods. A deputy located Ashley at his residence on the warrant and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Ashley was released on a $750 bond.

 

Anthony Arizmendi, 21, 308 ½ Eighth Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 12:07 am for the following offenses:

  • Operating vehicle while intoxicated
  • Hit and run driving
  • Careless operation with a crash
  • No driver’s license
  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) 2nd offense
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Duhon Boulevard and Lakeview Drive. Inside the vehicle, a deputy found a jar containing marijuana and a plastic pipe used for smoking marijuana. The driver of the vehicle was located walking on US Highway 90 in the Siracusaville area and was identified as Arizmendi. While speaking with Arizmendi, the deputy gathered information that he had been drinking and administered a field sobriety test. Arizmendi conducted the test poorly. Arizmendi later registered a 0.150g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Arizmendi was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Raymond Jackson, 40, 20395 US Highway 90 Frontage Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 1:24 pm for domestic abuse battery.

 

Stacie Jackson, 45, 20395 US Highway 90 Frontage Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 1:31 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a report of a battery that occurred at a residence in Jeanerette. The deputy found evidence that R. Jackson and S. Jackson committed a battery upon each other during an argument. Both subjects were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Both were released on a bond of $2,500 each.

 

Juvenile female, 15, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 4:29 pm for criminal damage to property and ungovernable juvenile. A deputy responded to a report of property damage at a residence in Patterson. During the investigation, the deputy found evidence that a juvenile female damaged the tires on a vehicle. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Jonathan Thomas, 43, 117 Natalie Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 4:03 pm for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy investigating a 2-vehicle crash on Natalie Lane found that one of the drivers, Thomas, had a suspended license. Thomas was released on a summons to appear in court on October 11, 2017.

 

Juvenile female, 15, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 7:01 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a report of a battery at a residence in Franklin. The deputy found evidence that the juvenile pushed a female victim during an argument. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Juvenile male, 15, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 2, 2017 at 8:07 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store security that the suspect in the incident had left the store. The deputy located the suspect, a juvenile, at a nearby business. The deputy collected evidence that the juvenile concealed items on his person and attempted to leave the store without paying for the goods. The juvenile was released to a guardian juvenile court proceedings.
