Arrest Report - June 5, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 72-hour weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 132 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Amber Metrejean, 27, 202 California Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 2, 2017 at 3:08 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy located Metrejean at her residence on the warrant and transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Metrejean paid a $73.80 fine and was released to appear in court on June 7, 2017.

 

Chance Boudreaux, 22, 400 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 2, 2017 at 5:20 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store security personnel that Boudreaux attempted to leave the store without paying for an item. Following the deputy’s investigation, Boudreaux was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.

 

Derek Brown, 25, 89 Choctaw Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on June 2, 2017 at 9:18 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of sexual battery. Accompanied by the Chitimacha Police, a deputy located Brown at his residence on the warrant. The deputy transported Brown to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Bradley Druilhet, 30, 306 Adam Street, Morgan City, LA was additionally charged on June 3, 2017 at 3:48 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple assault. Druilhet was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.

 

Justin Jenkins, 27, 217 Rod Lane, Baldwin, LA was arrested on June 2, 2017 at 7:23 pm on a warrant for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, hit and run driving, and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. At 2:00 am on May 19, 2017, a deputy began an investigation into a report of a hit and run crash on Bray Drive in Franklin. The deputy found evidence that Jenkins backed into a parked vehicle and drove through several yards. According to the deputy’s investigation, Jenkins exhibited signs of intoxication. The circumstances surrounding the incident were also being investigated by Baldwin Police. Following the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office investigation, the deputy obtained a warrant for Jenkins’ arrest. Baldwin Police notified a deputy that Jenkins was being held at the Baldwin Police Department on the warrant. Jenkins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jenkins was released on a $3,750 bond.

 

Jasmine Harris, 24, 428 Ninth Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 3, 2017 at 2:35 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of expired license plate, expired motor vehicle inspection, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and failure to honor written promise to appear. Harris turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Harris was released on a $370 bond.

 

Michelle Ashley, 47, 122 South Verret Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on June 3, 2017 at 2:41 pm for violation of protective orders. A deputy investigating a complaint of a violation of a protective order found evidence that Ashley went to the victim’s residence in Amelia in violation of the court order. Ashley was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Ashley was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Sharla Daniels, 47, 905 Willow Street, Lot #5, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 3, 2017 at 3:22 pm for theft by shoplifting. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store security personnel that Daniels was seen concealing items in her purse. The deputy collected additional evidence in the crime. Following the investigation, Daniels was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.

 

Ernest Dugas, Jr., 61, 262 Eve Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on June 3, 2017 at 12:23 pm for careless operation of a motor vehicle, switched license plate, no insurance, and failure to register a motor vehicle. At 9:30 pm on May 19, 2017, a deputy began an investigation into a single vehicle crash that occurred on LA Highway 318 in the Baldwin area. The driver of the overturned vehicle, identified as Dugas, was transported to a Lafayette hospital for treatment. The deputy found that Dugas was driving the car with a switched license plate that was not registered to the vehicle. The deputy also found that Dugas was driving the car without insurance or registration. The deputy located Dugas at his residence. Dugas was released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.

 

Michelle Landry, 44, 302 Carol Road Apt. #7, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 3, 2017 at 10:04 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia and 2 counts of possession of a Legend Drug (Prozac and Flexeril) without a prescription.

 

Clarence Francois, III, 50, 302 Carol Road Apt. #10, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 3, 2017 at10:04 pm on warrants from Morgan City Police Department and the City Court of Morgan City for criminal damage to property, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple battery, failure to appear on the charges of flight from an officer, and failure to appear on the charge of appearing in public intoxicated.

 

While investigating a complaint of loud noise coming from a residence on Carol Road, deputies encountered 2 subjects at 2 separate apartments at the complex. The subjects were identified as Landry and Francois. Inside Landry’s apartment, deputies found Flexeril and Prozac pills, a pipe used for smoking illicit drugs, and a grinder. Deputies located active warrants for Francois’ arrest. Landry and Francois were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set for Landry. Francois was transferred to the Morgan City Police Department jail.

 

Andy Nguyen, 22, 1420 Chatsworth Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 4, 2017 at 1:00 am for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. A deputy investigating a report of suspicious subjects at the Berwick Boat Landing located several subjects standing around parked vehicles including Nguyen. While speaking with Nguyen, the deputy observed 2 female juveniles hiding in the back seat of his vehicle. During the investigation, the deputy also located 3 bags of marijuana and a marijuana grinder in the vehicle. The juveniles were released to their guardians. Nguyen was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Nguyen was released on a $4,500 bond.

 

Edmond Robertson, 59, 112 Jolivette Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on June 5, 2017 at 12:50 am for disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy assisting Baldwin Police with a request to remove a subject made contact with Robertson outside a residence on Jolivette Street. While speaking with Robertson, the deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Robertson began yelling. Following the investigation, Robertson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. He released on a summons to appear in court on September 8, 2017.
