Arrest Report - May 24, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Renard Richard, 33, 403 Back Street, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on May 23, 2017 at 9:22 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, no driver’s license, and no insurance. Richard was transported from Assumption Parish on the warrant. No bail is set.

 

Cory Terwilliger, 27, 19015 Shaw Road, Saucier, MS was arrested on May 233, 2017 at 3:59 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and operating a vehicle with improper tail lights. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the active warrant for Terwilliger. Terwilliger was released on a summons to appear in court on August 15, 2017.

 

Juvenile male, 12, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on May 23, 2017 at 8:54 pm for retaliation by a minor against a parent or legal custodian. A deputy investigating a complaint of an ungovernable juvenile found evidence that the 12-year-old stole a cell phone and damaged vehicles at his home. The juvenile was released to guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that the Narcotics Section made the following arrests:

  

Linden Muffoletto, 36, 2414 Claude LeBlanc Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on May 23, 2017 at 12:39 pm for the following offenses:

  • Turning movements and required signals violation
  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

 

Jude Franklin, 39, 305 Darcy Road, New Iberia, LA was arrested on May 23, 2017 at 12:39 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule II (oxycodone) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Transactions involving drug proceeds
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

 

Detectives of the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section conducted a traffic stop on Jackson Street in Franklin after the driver turned abruptly without properly signaling the maneuver. The driver was identified as Muffoletto and a passenger was identified as Franklin. While speaking with the occupants, detectives collected specific facts indicating the possible presence of illegal drugs. K-9 Buddy also signaled the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. During a search of the vehicle, detectives found a bag of methamphetamine and oxycodone pills next to a handgun. Detectives also found a bag of methamphetamine, a Xanax pill, and a syringe needle in Muffoletto’s purse. And a digital scale and several glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine were found in the glovebox. Both suspects were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set for Franklin. Muffoletto was released on bond.

 

Deisha Broussard, 36, 2708 College Drive, Lot #2, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on May 23, 2017 at 6:01 pm for the following offenses:

  • Turning movements and required signals violation
  • Possession of Schedule II (cocaine)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Warrant for probation violation

Narcotics detectives patrolling Four Corners observed the driver of a vehicle pull in front of another vehicle without signaling the turn. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who was identified as Broussard. Detectives located an active warrant for Broussard’s arrest. During a search of her person, cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia were found on her person and in her purse. Broussard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
