Arrest Report - May 22, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 136 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Female juvenile, 16, Charenton, LA was arrested on May 19, 2017 at 6:43 am for criminal damage to property. A deputy investigating a report of an ungovernable juvenile found evidence that the 16-year-old punched a door during an argument with a male subject. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Justin Bourgeois, 44, 284 Cane Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on May 19, 2017 at 12:47 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responding to a report of domestic abuse made contact with Bourgeois at his residence. Through investigation, the deputy found evidence that Bourgeois struck a female victim in the face during an argument. Bourgeois was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Jessica Romero, 25, 618 McDonald Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on May 19, 2017 at 3:12 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. A correctional officer transported Romero from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. No bail is set.

 

Carnell Pierre, 29, 8591 Apricot Street, New Orleans, LA was arrested on May 19, 2017 at 6:05 pm for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy investigating a vehicle crash on US Highway 90 Morgan City bridge learned that one of the drivers involved was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Pierre was released on a summons to appear in court on August 15, 2017.

 

Theresa Hebert, 38, 208 Fanny Street, Houma, LA was arrested on May 19, 2017 at 9:22 pm for theft by shoplifting and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. When the deputy arrived, he observed a female subject matching the description of the suspected shoplifter running away from the store. The deputy pursued the subject and detained her pending the investigation. The subject was identified as Hebert. The deputy collected evidence that Hebert concealed items in a backpack before leaving the store without paying for the goods. Hebert was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $3,500.

 

Henry Curtis, Jr., 58, 148 Glenn Becky Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on May 20, 2017 at 3:14 am for disturbing the peace (intoxication).

 

Monica Olivier, 46, 524 Kirk Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on May 20, 2017 at 3:24 am for illegal carrying of weapons and possession of a firearm on the premises of an alcoholic beverages outlet.

 

A deputy responded to a request to remove a subject from a bar on LA Highway 182 in Jeanerette. The deputy collected statements that Olivier produced a handgun and placed the weapon on the bar inside the business. During the investigation, a deputy was approached by Curtis who began to cause a disturbance. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Curtis. Both Olivier and Curtis were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Olivier was released on a $4,000 bond. Curtis was released on a $250 bond.

 

Rhonda Harris, 42, 623 Rosebud Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on May 20, 2017 at 10:09 pm for speeding and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy observed a vehicle traveling 73 miles per hour in a posted 45 miles per hour construction zone on US Highway 90 in Jeanerette. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, identified as Harris. The deputy found that Harris was driving with a suspended license. Harris was released on a summons to appear in court on August 15, 2017.
