On March 17, 2015 at 3:08 am St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of a robbery at the Circle K convenience store on Highway 182 in Amelia. Upon arrival, deputies gathered a description of the perpetrator and began a search of the area, but did not locate the suspect. During the course of the investigation into the robbery, video surveillance of the crime was obtained. On it, the suspect is seen entering the store just prior to 3:00 am. The suspect, who did not appear to be armed, approached the counter and demanded money from the store clerk. Fearing that the suspect would become violent, the victim turned over the cash in the register. The suspect then left the store.
